Program provides education and training benefits to eligible members of the Selected Reserve, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard Reserve, Army National Guard or Air National Guard. Eligibility for this program is determined by the Selected Reserve components and VA makes the payments. For more information, please visit the MGIB-SR web page.
Step One
Go to VA.GOV to complete your application.
Step Two
Provide a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility to the VA and Military Benefit Certifying Team utilizing the VA/Military Benefit Intake Form.
Step Three
On the last calendar day of the month, you must verify your enrollment to the VA via the Web Automated Verification of Enrollment (WAVE) or by calling the toll free Interactive Voice Response line at (877) 823-2378.
If you are enrolled in classes at half-time or greater you can receive both Military TA and Chapter 1606 benefits.
