Biography
Lt (J.G.) Thomas was born in Ithaca New York, and while attending Oregon State College he chose to study education. He signed the draft in 1940 while living in Arlington Virginia and was called to service on 4 Jun 1943. While serving aboard the USS Longshaw (DD-1945), the ship was lost to shore fire off Naha Okinawa after grounding on a reef, on 18 May 1945.
