Parker, Harry Burdette

Born in Hansen, South Dakota, 1st Lt Parker Graduated from Oregon State College with a Bachelors in Agriculture. While serving with the Army Air Force’s 854th Bomb Squadron, 491st Bomb Group his aircraft B-24 Buno # 44-40210, was shot down by anti-aircraft fire crashing near Tilburg, Holland during a supply drop in Operation Market Garden. He was survived by his wife, daughter, parents and five siblings.

Middlekauff, Mark Humbert

“Served the department of Bacteriology in the capacity of teaching fellow: and had been elected Assistant Professor of Bacteriology, when he enlisted in military service...He was engaged in the responsible work of flying planes from the assembling point in France to the battle front, when an accident to his plane caused his death at Chatillon-sur-Seine..”

Maynard, Charles Boyd

"Lieutenant Maynard received fatal wounds while leading a company of United States marines as acting captain in an attack on Belleau Woods, on June 7, 1918, and succumbed the following day in the American hospital at Jouilly, France. Lieutenant Maynard was thrice wounded in action previous to his fatal wounds, and just a week prior to his final engagement had been granted a two months leave of absence to recuperate from injuries.
