OSU VA Advance

Post 9/11 GI Bill® and VR&E

OSU will automatically advance the anticipated VA tuition payment if you were certified and accepted your financial aid award before the start the of the term. This is to allow disbursement of financial aid if the advance creates a credit on your student account. The advance will be reversed shortly after it is applied because it is not the actual payment from the VA.

Benefits paid directly to the student should arrive approximately the beginning of the month following the month you earned it. For example, if you start school in September, your first benefit payment is expected to arrive the beginning of October.

Oregon State University will not impose any penalty (e.g., interest charges, registration holds) due to the delayed disbursement funding from VA under chapters 31 or 33.
