1st Lt Ralph Chapman was born in St Helens Oregon, he went to Oregon State College for 2 ½ years before switching to the University of Portland and graduating there. He signed the draft on 15 Oct 1940 and was called into service on 12 Mar 1942 in Portland. He was killed while flying as a bombardier on a B-24 Liberator over Formosa (Taiwan) with the 90th Bomb Group, 321st Bomb Squadron. He was buried in a group burial, on 25 Aug 1949. 1st Lt Chapman was survived by his wife, parents, and his sister. 1936 yearbook (pg 192) 1937 yearbook (pgs 219, 283) 1938 yearbook (pg 300)
