Biography

Flight officer Gilkey was a student at OSU until 1935. Seeing the need to fight in Europe, and the unwillingness of the US to enter the war, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. While serving, and fighing for Canada Flight Officer Gilkey never swore allegiance to Canada. He was survived by his wife when he went missing during a reconnaissance flight from Marseilles France, to Geona Italy on 28 Dec 1943.
