Born in Oregon around 1918, 2nd Lt Howe studied Mechanical Engineering while attending Oregon State College. While serving with the Army Air Force’s 2nd Observation Squadron 2nd Lt Howe was taken prisoner during the fall of Bataan, and was forced to walk the Bataan Death march. He died as a Prisoner of War in the PW Camp #1 - Cabanatuan 1-2-3 Nueva Province Luzon Philippines 15-121 POW Camp. He was survived by his father, brother and sister.
