Biography
2nd Lt. Johnston served in the Army Air Forces 489th Bomb Squadron, 340th Bomb group. He died when his plane crashed near Barksdale Feild, La. The crash was the result of the midair collison of Johnston's B-25C Mitchell #41-12630 with another plane. The wrekage was found in Lafourche Swamp near Monroe, La. on January 3, 1943.
