Born in Condon, Oregon, 2nd Lt Lantis studied Agriculture during his time at Oregon State College. While serving with the Army’s Company K, 126th Infantry, 32nd Division, he was killed in the Philippines when his platoon encountered heavy enemy sniper fire. 2nd Lt Lantis was survived by his father.
