Bunnell, Robert Ross

"Born in Branson, Colo., Bunnell moved to Klamath Falls with his family in 1943. Bunnell graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1936, received a scholarship to Linfield College where he attended one year before transferring to Oregon State University where he received his degree. He entered the Army in 1942 and was sent overseas six weeks before his death at the age of 25.

Bryan, Samuel John

Pilot of a C-47 Skytrain aircraft, and died in a training accident. While flying at a low altitude vee formation his and another plane touched wings causing both planes to go out of control and crash 1.5 miles from Membury Airfield.

Brown, Donald Raymond

A officer of the USS Wahoo (SS-238) a Gato class submarine. On October 11th 1943 the submarine was hit while attempting to leave the La Perouse Strait between Russia and Japan. Japanese anti-submarine aircraft saw it and sank it killing all on board. The USS Wahoo was declared overdue on December 2, 1943 and was confirmed destroyed on December 6th. The search for the Wahoo started in 1995 and on Oct 31, 2006 the location of the Wahoo wreckage was found. On Oct 11th, 2007 a remembrance ceremony was held by the navy at this location.

Bogardus, Levan Irving

 Sgt. Bogardus was the nose gunner of B-24 #42-50323, "Heaven Can Wait" in the 392nd Bomb Group, 577th Bomb Squadron. During the 200th mission of the 392nd to bomb Bingen, Germany the squadron suffered through poor weather conditions, and attack by 50 FW-109 fighters. During the attack B-24 #42-50323 was shot down, resulting in the loss of the crew. Sgt Bogardus was survived by his parents and sister.
